Quirky and brilliant!

The late Carlos Amantea was a principal contributor to the late Fessenden Review, a literary review beholden to no one and always ready to skewer the pompous and self-deluded authors of the day. I met Mr. Amantea in his final days, when he was living in the Madonna Perdido trailer park in Oaxaca and relying on the kindness of the park proprietor, Ms. Lark, for warmth and sustenance after losing everything to the nimble fingers of a string of live-in "companions". Everything in this book is true. That this seems unlikely to some readers reflects less on the book than on the reader.
