The small seaside town of St Foy is ablaze with excitement. The newly elected Member of Parliament has chosen St Foy as the base for his constituency office

His arrival coincides with the discovery of a body in a derelict cottage on the outskirts of the town. A natural death - or is it? It begins with the arrival of a dog, at 9am each day for three days, as foretold in a childhood tale of a fictitious dog that will rescue the heroine of its story. This time, the dog is real.
