Helps deal with college admissions obstacles

This book alleviated the colossal stress associated with choosing a college, and admissions prep, for our daughter. Since she is our `one and only', we had no prior experience. The pragmatic, and easy to digest approach, helps all involved (parent and child) to navigate what would otherwise be rough waters. The guide is well arranged, classified, and coordinated, so it eases the pain of this arduous family task. We're glad we used it, and highly recommend it.

Excellent book! An absolute pleasure to read and re-read!

I loved this book! I thought it was full of helpful advice, not only for parents preparing their juniors and those that are just beginning the admissions process with their seniors but also for parents who have teens that are still freshman and sophmores so that we can begin to understand the hurdles that we are facing under the increasingly competitive college admission process. Every hurdle that I don't have to face because I am prepared is one less aggravating day in my life! After I read to book, I began to use some of the common sense advice and begin to apply it to both my high school senior and my junior. The "down to earth" writing style and humorous approach to a rather daunting task made made the book an absolute pleasure to read and re-read! I even shared the book and practical advice with both of my teens so that they could gain a better understanding of how to prepare themselves for the admissions process before we actually had to begin it. This book not only helped me as a parent, but it helped my teens understand how competitive the admissions process is and how we can begin to prepare ourselves now for the task ahead! Thank you! The book was extremely helpful in relieving some of the anxiety that was felt during the process of selecting the right college for our child. We were able to use the book as a guide in making the right selecting. Our questions were answered as we read the different sections and eliminated some of our worst fears.How far away shoud she travel? We apprecited the time and effort the authors put into writing this book for parents who are applying to colleges for the first time.

I found many practical tips that you won't find in other books. Thoughtfully organized and full of insightful, real-life examples.
