This is one of the best books I have ever read. It explains a lot of things about the various branches of the occult and gives you hands-on experience by teaching you the techniques of a master. I loved the part on white magic, the things that set it apart from black magic, and the theories and practice of it. What I love the most about this book is how comprehensive and practical it is. It contains a lot of specialized knowledge that boosts your spiritual development many levels higher, and the techniques are very thoroughly and clearly explained. Anyone can understand and perform these techniques, and the results are amazing. I strongly recommend this book. My increased study of the metaphysical and the occult has led me to discover that the best knowledge tends to be found in the older books like this one. This is an extremely important work, and I cannot stress this enough. It's truly a rare and special masterpiece. I loved the author's take on the occultism, which she defines as "altruism pure and simple". She explains how this knowledge leads to the proper discrimination between good and evil and the practice of altruism. I really enjoyed this book and believe I'm better for having read it. It's just bursting with special knowledge that is exceptionally helpful in showing you how to tap into your spiritual side.

There is an excellent book for anyone who is interested in gaining knowledge from a master of the occult arts. The techniques are very easy to understand and immensely powerful. This is a very practical and well-written masterpiece that instructs you on how to maintain your spiritual and psychic balance while practicing these arts and coaches you on the proper attitude you should have to enter into this realm successfully and unscathed. Readers can benefit immensely from this book. It's absolutely jam-packed with information. I learned so much from it. There is always something new to learn, and I'm grateful whenever I find a new gem like this one. I've found this book to be incredibly helpful and empowering. It covers a lot of territory in the realm of the occult arts, from mainstream arts like hypnotism to the secretive ones like black magic. This is a wonderful book that I intend to recommend to all my friends. I really loved it. It explains so much and shows you how to keep on the right track as you practice. The techniques are very clearly explained, and they work.

What a great intro to Blavatsky's perspectives on Hypnotism et. al.

Really enjoyed this. Though the book is a compilation of articles that appeared elsewhere, great perspectives on hypnotism, black-white magic, psychic- noetic action, c(k)osmic mind, etc. A great place to start if you are researching or exploring Esoteric Character of the Gospels, Gnosticism, Astral Bodies... you don't need any prior knowledge/education on these topics to understand this book, though I did have to Google a few words. Recommended.

This is a great book for the novice to begin if he or she is just starting to study the mystery schools. Especially the chapter on Occultism versus the Occult arts.
