Five spooky classics

The short stories included in this book are (Title, author, publishing date): "The Monkey's Paw" by W. W. Jacobs(1902) "The Upper Berth" by F. Marion Crawford (1896) "The Dream Woman" by Wilkie Collins (1855) "The Mortal Immortal" by Mary Shelley (c. 1834) "The Ghost Ship" by Richard Middleton (1912) Perhaps the most accessible for younger readers would be "The Monkey's Paw." What if we actualy received the wishes for which we had wished? "The Upper Berth" looks at a traveler on a ship in a specific room that is haunted. "The Dream Woman" is about the fear evoked by premonitions. Shelley's story reminds me of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" in which immortality is the cost of misbehavior. The last story by Middleton is very humorous: what happens when a ghost ship lands in your turnip field? There is most likely something in this collection of weird tales that will delight the reader.
