Easy yet comprehensive!

Accessible for 6th grade and up. Addresses all the important historical and racial issues from 1400 through 2020. Explains the differences between segregationist, assimilationist and antiracist ideas as well as identifying the tension between those ideas in leaders through history. Identifies the major activists, including women and LGBTQ+ individuals. Beautiful illustrations. Great glossary of potentially new vocabulary. Excellent timeline from 1452 to 2020. Lists recommended further reading for 3 age groups. Wonderful book for our youth who are not being taught race in American history in school!
