An excellent primer on defensive football for coaches and players

If you are a budding football coach and you need to learn the fundamentals of defensive football in a hurry, then this is the book for you. Wilkinson is one of the most successful football coaches of all time and he describes the basic tactics of each defensive player on the field in a manner that middle school students can understand. He describes the responsibilities and actions of each of the basic positions of defensive lineman, defensive end, linebacker and secondary. Although this is just a primer, it contains enough information that after reading it, it will be possible to coach the defensive side of the ball. As knowledgeable commentators consistently state, while the offense gets the headlines, it is defense that wins championships.
