Four Sisters Devoted to Each Other Through Thick and Thin

This was one of Danielle Steel's best books that I have ever read. The story centers around 4 sisters. There is Candy, a famous supermodel at only 21 years of age. Then Annie, 26, who is an artist who lives her art, and she lives in Florence. Tammy is the next in line, the second sister who is a network broadcaster working in Los Angeles. And the first sister, Sabrina is an attorney who is deeply in love with Chris. She's afraid of getting married because of what she sees in court every day with divorces. So she and Chris go along like they are. On holidays the family all gets together to see each other, and their mother Jane planned a July 4th get together as always. When they all have arrived, Jane and Annie go to the store to pick up some last minute items for their party when the worst possible tragedy of all happens. There was a truck with steel pipes on it that makes a head-on collision with Jane and Annie. The driver didn't watch where he was going and as a result, the pipes crahes into the car killing Jane instantly, and leaving Annie injured-and blind. This was a cruel fate, and puts the whole family upside down and not to recover for a very long time. Annie has a terrible time of course, and doesn't even want to live anymore. Her sisters all pull together though, and make sacrifices to live together for a year until Annie can become independent. Their father has totally fallen apart as well and seems to have turned senile overnight without their mother. He is lost until a new love enters his life that is 25 years younger than he is and the girls are outraged by this-especially since it has not even been six months since they lost their mother. But their father is determined and is going to marry his new love in spite of everyone's inacceptance.

Sisters

Thoroughly enjoyed this latest book from Danielle Steele, a real life situation of how lives can change in an instant, and how families pull together. Can't wait for her next book

Very Enjoyable!

I'm a bit nervous now - that's TWO Danielle Steel books in a row that I've loved and had a hard time putting down! First, HRH, now SISTERS! I found myself jealous of the girls and their relationships with each other! I've lost both my parents, and I could totally understand their devastation at their mother's death. I've also had to deal with a step-mother and could understand their anger at their dad's remarriage. I loved the dogs too! What a cute touch, and it made the girls more real! I too would have enjoyed to see the girls interact with their step-mother and also to see if their dad finally gets a boy! Any Danielle Steel fan knows she does not write sequels.....but we can hope! I'd be anxious to read one of SISTERS. I guess I would have liked it just a bit better if everyone weren't so rich and see how they do living on $40,000 a year salaries. But really, other than that, this book was wonderful. It just gives anyone hope who faces tragedy and that out of a bad situation, with love and support of family, you can triumph, and brighter days can arrive!

Overcoming Tragedy

Share in the joys of sisterhood with another great book by Danielle Steele. You will laugh and cry along with the women in this book.

Bravo Ms.Steel

Danielle Steel hits a homerun with this novel. It's inspirational and uplifting with some touching moments. The novel starts with four sisters each beautiful and talented each with their own dramas to deal with. But close in everyway. But that love is tested when tragedy strikes. This is a must-read and I absolutely love it.
