excellent book

This is one of my favorite books. I read this as a single and connected with her in many ways as I read. What a great message and example about letting God be in control of our lives - that it works out better that way.

A very touching story.

I read this book many years ago, and at a time in my life when I had lost hope, direction and purpose in Christianity. The book restored the faith that God can and will move in our lives and make a difference, even when we do not see the changes occuring. It renewed me on the inside. Over the years, each time I reread Safer Than a Known Way, a new facet of the work touches me in a new compelling ways. This book is also great reading for those who enjoy Autobiography. It is the amazing journey of one woman into the unknown, while trusting God with her future. Through submitting to God, Pamela Rosewell Moore worked for both Brother Andrew and Corrie ten Boom - two persons who did amazing works for God. This book provides insights from behind the scenes with observations of two well-known persons and how God knitted Pam's life with theirs. While recently voluntering for Pam and working with her, I also found Pam to be a peaceful, solid woman of faith. She is a homemaker, guest speaker, and yet a woman just like you and me. As a young woman, her surrender to Jesus Christ provided the adventure of a lifetime. Her story, as told in this book, provided new ability to trust God with an unknown future in my own life.

For those trying to trust God's will amidst uncertainties.

I was given this book many years ago by a very wise friend. The things I learned through this author's life, a woman who told God all the things she would 'never' do, have stuck with me. She eventually decided to let God be in charge...she "put her hand into the hand of God" and found herself doing all those very things...and living a life more fulfilling than her wildest dreams. She quotes a stanza from a hymn that has since become an achoring thought for me as well...."Praise to the Lord, who o'er all things so wondrously reigneth. Shelters thee under his wings, ye, so gently sustaineth. Hast thou not seen? All thy desire e'er hath been granted in what HE ordaineth." My life, too, has been far different than the scenario I told God I wanted. And many times it has been challenging as I kept walking into uncertainty after uncertainty (including Him leading me to the mission field) trying to trust in His control and purposes for me...trying to not second guess Him, thinking I knew the best way to run my life. As the title of the book says "Put your hand into the hand of God, and that will be to you as light, and safer than a known way"

This book should be read to all who know God is the way!

When I first read this book, I found that Pamela and I have the same interest in a fulfilling life. She wanted to be married as soon as possible before growing old. I feel the same way. Her love for Christ and patience gave me the strength to wait on God's calling for a mate. This book was very excellent and well written. I told all of my friends about this book.
