A chaotic mess of random plant info with a few notes on companion plants.

This book is all fluff with little substance regarding companion plants. There are numerous garden books that explain the science of companion planting in depth this isnt one of them. Much of the book is about plant lore, plant uses (edible, medicinal etc) and pointless sections on random garden things, which is fine if that is what the author was marketing the book as. The minimal info on who to plant with who is scarce and lightly explained. If your plant or crop is not listed your out of luck. To be fair some of the info is useful but the book over promises and is marketed to be something its not… a book on companion planting and the benefits.

My mother is very happy with it

One of my mother's gardening friends recommended Roses Love Garlic to her. She's been sharing the book with her garden club and they have all enjoyed it.

Interesting and Informative

This is an inclusive set of information. It is not just a list of companion plants but also gives descriptive information about the plants. I would reccommended it to any gardener.

GREAT EASY AND FUN RESOURCE

This book is a world of info. Layout is easy to use. Such wonderful bits of info are stuck in all thur the book. Recommend!!!

Companion veggie gardening

I originally bought this book over 20 years ago from Rodale press and lost it in one of my many moves. It is an excellent resource for companion and inter-planting of flowers, many of which are edible, with vegetables. I now garden in containers and the concepts in this book lend themselves easily to this kind of gardening.

Farmers almanac style information-

This is written as an A-Z style dictionary of gardening tips, up to date with the revival of natural pest management and organic gardening. Somehow this little book gets jam-packed with amazingly thoughtful, motivating and entertaining information-- very much reminds me of gathering materials from farmers dusty notes over a period of lets say 200 years or more. Has a believable wisdom put into useful format.
