Charleston must come to terms with what he refers to as The Pain, from his football injury. His young Rebi (Ree-Bee) patience with her husband has worn thin and when all has failed, she files for devoice. Frustration forces Charleston to leave Cincinnati, his wife and their home to return to his parents in Washinton, D.C. where he hopes he can begin to put his life back together. But his and Rebi parents are not ready to allow their children to throw away their love so easily and they conspire to get the two them back together. Not such an easy task especially with outside characters interjecting themselves into the equation. In particular a cute young white girl who has taken an interest in Charleston and seems to always be in the right place at the wrong time whenever he tries to reconcile his relationship with Rebi. This is book one in an ongoing and developing series. Resident Swans, can be a prisoner to one's own reality if one does not recognize just what and who they are.
