As a person just starting to design letterheads and business cards, this book provided a feast for both my eyes and imagination. It also left me satisfied that I too have the ability to design letterhead and business cards that are as attractive and distinctive as those in the book. The designs in the book range from the comic to the sophisticated. While many of the designs are for graphic artists and are therefore more graphically adventurous, there are also examples of work for: a dentist, neurosurgeon, glassblower, realtor, shopping mall, communications firm, and photographer among others. In addition to having a plethora of design ideas, the book also has information on design and production costs. The only drawback to the book is that some of the papers used for the letterheads do not photograph well. In conclusion, this book helps the designer by providing a starting point for the imagination. It also helps the designer work with the client by giving the client examples of work to look at. The client can then show the designer both what he/she likes and what he/she does not, aiding the design process for both client and designer.
