When your passions and motivations grow larger than the small, desolate town you live in, it is easy to become claustrophobic. Palm Trees is a short story about a man who feels out-of-place in his own home, in his own town, and in his own skin. His habitat is that of a long-expired factory town along the Hudson River. His dreams of becoming a writer, an actor, and a director seem impossible and far away on this snowy, gray day. Upon watching a televised interview of one of his favorite directors, Dom is again inspired to get up and fight for what he wants out of life. However, Northeastern fate may have its own plans for him.
