What a powerful group of characters!!!

I thought the charaters created by harris were the best. She brought out the best of Meagan and Joey - two mentally disabled adults trying to find meaning with their lives. The fire investigation moved along as you turned each page, not knowing where the police would be taken...I couldn't put it down.

Action packed Police investigation

The book grabbed me from the first chapter until the end. I liked the smooth method Harris used with the police investigation. Every move had a purpose. I liked the chararters and how Harris handled the two who were mentally disabled.

Wow! Powerful characters

I've read all three books by Harris. I especailly like the way she uses the same characters in each story. I feel like I'm getting to know friends. The action in No Second Chance moves from the first page to the last.

A Grabber!

Well, Ms. Harris got me this time! I was in the middle of a five volume set when this book arrived. For a few minutes between volumes 4 and 5, I just wanted to get a quick look-see at what No Second Chance was about. Well, needless to say, I got grabbed right away, and couldn't put it down until I finished this highly enjoyable read. Like Groton, I too have read the other two books as well. That isn't really necessary for you to enjoy this book, as the author gives you enough information to follow everything without going through a re-hash of the previous books. But hey - why not read the other two as well? She's a good author. In this day and age, when writers feel they have to twist and turn the plot so many times it becomes pure fantasy, No Second Chance is straight forward and believeable.

The action and police investigation was nonstop.

I read the other books by Harris and I liked this one the best. Harris created a beautiful character, Meagan. She's a Special Olympic athlete who loves to watch GET SMART and tries all the antics shown on the TV show. The setting is Hyannis, MA - just like SMOLDERING. The perfect place for a floater to be found!!!
