Fun, Helpful, Interesting

Never Kiss a Frog: A Girl's Guide to Creatures from the Dating Swamp This is dating humor and advice from someone who's been around the swamp! As a licensed psychotherapist and counselor, I see a lot of women who keep kissing these frogs and can't figure out why they don't turn into princes (To be fair, guys encounter froggy girls, too) Even if your particular frog might turn out to be someone else's prince, he's not going to transform for you. Anderson's advice -- livened up with her own illustrations -- is to jettison that frog! This book is fun, yes, but it's also really helpful to women who just can't seem to get that the guy they're fixated on isn't good relationship material. By describing the different kinds of frogs, and how to handle each one, the author is doing a great service - and making it fun, to boot! This would be a great gift for a girl party --the whole group would be laughing and sharing stories in a moment!

I laughed until I thought I would croak

This book is both funny and serious, and very well-written. Advice with a side dish of humor. A must for all unpartnered ladies. Loved the tale of the diet freak, the misadventure with the makeover man, and the bit about the "sword." Bravo, Marilyn A.!!

Wow! Marilyn Anderson has given us girls the best new primer on dating ever. It's called "NEVER KISS A FROG: A Girl's Guide to Creatures from the Dating Swamp." This book should be on every single woman's bedside table...right next to the telephone so the next time one of these "frogs" calls she'll know exactly what to say!My entire dating life passed before my eyes (not to mention my funny bone) as I read this terrific book. There, between the pages, were all the dead-end guys (frogs) I have spent half my adult life dating... and wasting my time on. All I can say is, "Marilyn, where were you when I needed you!" I could hardly stop laughing long enough to call up my latest "boyfriend" and tell him to go take a hike, or as Marilyn might say, "Go jump back into the swamp, you slimy frog""Never Kiss a Frog" is chock full of laughs, brimming with great insights and overflowing with common sense suggestions that most of us (certainly me) probably overlook. For advice, there are Wart Warnings and Ribbet Snippets - smart, savvy and funny. There are also toadally clever names of frogs every girl can relate to like The-Really-Nice-Guy-But-Really-Bad-Kisser Frog, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Frog, and the Horny Toad. Oh yeah, and if I were you, I would slip one of these books into your boyfriend's briefcase or backpack and hope after reading it he may turn into that prince you've always been looking for. Frog-a-riffic!!!

The subtitle to this book is "a girl's guide to creatures from the dating swamp." I would add that men could learn a thing or two about frogs reading this book, as well -- and have fun doing it. It's clever and witty, with surprises throughout that tickled my funny bone. I've recently discovered it also makes a good gift, warts and all, when I gave it to a friend of mine, a woman who has known me in both human and frog form. However, we still disagree on what category of frogs I fall under.
