The Badisches W?rterbuch [dictionary of the Baden dialect] documents the vernacular vocabulary of the area that constituted the former Grand Duchy of Baden, extending from Lake Constance over the Black Forest and the east bank of the Rhine to the Odenwald and the river Main near Wertheim. Apart from the vocabulary of the living dialects historical expressions and names are also taken into account, albeit to a lesser extent.
