This is a true recollection of the abuse in my life from a the time I was child up until my current adulthood. Some situations may be triggering, or cause angst to those who have been through sexual, emotional, physical, and psychological abuse, or narcissistic abuse. Each chapter is named after a song that has or had prevalence to my life or the situation I was going through at the time, and helps the reader immerse themselves in the joy, pain, hurt, disgust, healing, and love I have felt through my journey. This was written to showcase what people go through, why we can't or won't "just leave," and the lifelong impacts such abuse has on the victims. How it literally changes us to a point of no return physically in our brains, causing the way we process emotions to be forever rewired, and how you should go easy on yourself, because it's not your fault. In this book you will also learn about some key definitions and tactics an abuser will use against their victims, and realize you, or your loved one are not alone, and decide if what you or they are experiencing is abuse and understand it doesn't have to be forever, that your intuition is REAL, and that they are bullies who are trying to make you feel how they actually feel about themselves If you've picked out this book to read, you have likely already been in, or are in an abusive relationship. If you are reading to understand someone else's situation, be prepared... it's dark in here. Many of these true stories and situations will be hard to read, but I feel it's my duty to shed light on what happens behind closed doors, the damage that happens even to our GOOD relationships, even with the victims' own children who eventually also become pawns and victims themselves at the hands of abusers via parental alienation which is heavily discussed here. If you can prevent this by leaving now, if you have the support to get away right now, RUN. An abuser will always be an abuser, even if they stop the physical abuse, the mental abuse will always linger. If you or someone you know is in direct or immediate danger due to domestic violence, call 911, or if you need reassurance and guidance, call The National Domestic Violence Hotline right away to receive help. at 800.799.SAFE (7233)
