A Wonderful Book on the Current State of Structural Family Therapy

In this work, the reader gets a taste of the current state of affairs in Structural Family Therapy. The book is broken into two parts. Part I is on theory and clinical practice while Part II is a series of eight chapters in the lives of various supervisees of Minuchin written as personal narratives. Throughout the work, Minuchin cuts in with an insertion from his point of view. After these personal accounts are rendered, the authors (if still with us) give a ten year look-back perspective on the experience in light of their life and practice. A highly insightful and enjoyable work. A must read for all systemic therapists or those sympathetic to this type of work. Rev. Sean Michael McLaughlin, Pastoral Counselor and Executive Director of Ferrar Family Services
