Mallard Pointe Lane Lunes is a collection of short poems in the form of Lunes, American Haikus, as some may call them. They are the second collection of poetry by American poet, J.J. Reed of Ohio, USA. They are a snapshot of thoughts he gathered while his family was selling a house full of his childhood memories and stuff he had while growing up in a suburban home in Ohio. As he sat by a quiet pond behind the house he used the simple form of the Lune to hold on to the scattered thoughts he had among the boxes of memories and old photos of his past moving all around him. This short collection is compiled from 300+ poems he wrote in a two week period in the summer of 2022 when he moved back to his home town after 20 years of being away. The 150 poems in the book have no real narrative but are a snapshot of a mind in the middle of his world moving around him as he sat by the pond on Mallard Pointe Lane. It is also a sort of call to action for others to use the simple form of the Lune to express themselves in this digital crazy modern age.
