An eye opener!

Tanenbaum provides an insightful analysis of each gender - what we are, how we got that way and how it plays out in our relationships. Most of us rush into this arena determined to understand the opposite sex in the hope of changing them. Of course there is little chance of doing this unless we fully understand ourselves and what we bring to the relationship. You will learn a lot about the opposite sex, but more importantly you will learn just as much about yourself. An entertaining read that will open your eyes and change your perspective!

Wow!

Every single chapter contains information that turns the world upside down and makes a huge difference in understanding the opposite sex! I had no idea we were so different - from the basics of physiology to how we view the world and how we think. It's helping me understand my coworkers and myself better. It's helping me bring understanding and tolerance to all my relationships. This will be required reading for my future romantic partners! The end-of-chapter summaries are a great help for anyone reading this a little at a time. Don't be fooled by the not-so-great cover design - this is a valuable and important read!

Clear definition of gender differences

This book is clearly written with real-life scenarios to illustrate the concepts. The book has helped me become more effective as a manager because now I understand that men and women work differently. Women can multitask, juggling more than one project at time, while men need to focus on one project at a time. Men do a thorough job, but get stressed if you ask them to work on projects simultaneously. The recap of main points at the end of each chapter aids retention of the information.

A powerful resource for understanding gender differences wi

As a family psychologist I have recommended this book over the years to couples as required reading in the beginning stages of therapy. It has been a constant roadmap for them to work out communication issues and accept that male female differences really exist and can be documented by research. As a result therapy has been more meaningful and the results less disappointing to them as they no longer demand that their partner think and act as they do. Why is it out of print and hard to find?

Great Book!!!!

Excellent Book!!! Much better than "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus". It is humorous as well as informative. It teaches you to laugh at yourself while helping you learn how to appreciate diversity. It explains that we all have both Male and Female characteristics, but just different proportions of each.
