This book is a mixture of different themes from the author's early adult life. Many of these poems exemplify their feelings about inescapable adulthood, growing up, familial death, broken spirituality, continuing themes on mental illness, and other themes. The first section named, "Change", is what it sounds like. The book itself is about the change and feelings that the author has felt throughout their burgeoning adult life, and the losses of childhood that comes with it. The second section, "There They Grow", discusses the author's growth as a person, and the love they have gained from those closest to them. As with "Dealing with Demons", the poet's first book, "loving her to care" has had a cumulative feel to it as well. The author's hope is that you, the reader, will find a bit of yourself within this book's words. Wherever you find solace, inspiration, or even an inkling of truth found here, the hope is that you, whoever and wherever you are in your life, may find something here that will resonate with you.
