Good Old stories every kid needs to love

Little Golden Books were a huge part of shaping the American Dream. Kids of new generations will love this gold-edged volume that contains Saggy Baggy Elephant, Kitten Who Thought He Was A Mouse, How the Leopard Got His Spots, Mister Dog, Animal Orchestra, The Lion's Pa, Baby Animals (by Garth Williams), The Golden Egg Book, Animal Friends (illus by Garth Williams), The Big Brown Bear, Home for a Bunny, How the Camel Got Its Hump and the Tawny Scrawny Lion. All the original illustrations are included and the colors havebeen restored to their original brightness (ah, the joys of digital restoration). The size is nice for bedtime or tucking into the car for reading while you wait, always a great way to wait!

You grew up on the Little Golden Books; now you can pass those stories along to your children with this great series. Printed on high-quality paper with gilt edges in a hardbound edition that's sure to last for ages, its surprising how affordable the books in the Little Golden Book Treasury series are. Each has more than 300 pages, and contains numerous stories such as Scuffy the Tugboat, The Poky Little Puppy, Tawny Scrawny Lion, The Saggy Baggy Elephant. Pages are larger and more colorful than the original Little Golden Books. My kids love them!

Just like the originals

I just got this book in the mail today and I love it already. The pages are nice sized and the books are sturdy enough for years of enjoyment. These are the stories I remember my Mother reading me as a child and I look forward to many hours of reading to my own children. If they don't get worn out from lots of use they will be passed on to the next generation as well, just as our childhood books have been. These are classic stories that will be loved for many generations.

wonderful collection - buy these books for your children!

This book and the other collections (farm tales, animal tales) are very well done! They are much more enjoyable to read than the "treasury" collections of little golden books which condense the stories, leaving out parts and omitting many of the illustrations. In these books the stories are complete, the pages are glossy, and the illustrations are bright and colorful. My children are able to enjoy reading the old Golden Books that are no longer available individually. We especially love the illustrations by Eloise Wilkin!
