What are mind, consciousness and happiness, in the fundamental context of life? Why do we behave the way we do? How should we improve our lives and behaviors? Diverse answers have been provided by scientists and philosophers. The answers to date may not be fully explanatory and/or practical enough in nature. I propose that a theoretical framework encompassing a convergent perspective (integrating insights from genomics, neurobiology, and clinical medicine, as well as from evolutionary biology, psychology and social sciences) could help us better understand what life, mind, consciousness and happiness are, as well as provides practical applications for improving how we live and how we behave. In a sense, this is an attempt at a unifying "Theory of Everything". I perceive clearly my ignorance in multiple fields not accounted for in this approach, but wish to outline it nevertheless as a possible source of empirically testable models for scientists, and a starting point for future self-improvement explorations by individuals. Religion is mostly outside of the scope of this book, which can be profitably read by people of all faiths, or no faith.
