This book presents a thoughtful, common sense approach to working with children in poverty neighborhoods. I read it on the airplane on a flight from Seattle to Los Angeles. I really could not put it down. It was refreshing to hear such positive, workable suggestions that really hit home with me, and I have been teaching for 30 years. I understood exactly what the authors were talking about.
