Raised in nearby Robbins in a Catholic household, Keke grew up watching her parents, Sharon and Lawrence Palmer, who had both pursued acting before transitioning to full-time careers-her mother working as a teacher for autistic children and her father as a Catholic deacon and polyurethane company employee. Her unique nickname, "Keke," wasn't derived from her birth name but from her sister's imaginary friend, a playful nod to the family's vibrant imagination.
