I have taken and failed the boards. I now have inside information on what is on the test. I have used many of the review books and NONE of them compare. This easy to read book is the best one and CLOSEST to the actual questions on that exam.Good luck, TammyJ RN
Great approach to NCLEX...It helped me to pass!!!!!!

The Kaplan review book was a great book to review for my Boards. The approach is easy to understand and facilitates the concept of critical thinking skills necessary to pass the NCLEX. There is only one way to skin a CAT and Kaplan does it with skill and knowledge. I highly recommend this book for review. At this point in your nursing education you have the knowledge to pass the NCLEX Kaplan just shows you how!!

This books provide comprehensive strategies that are easy to undestand and apply in NCLEX. I just started preparing for NCLEX and have been more motivated to study because of this book. Thanks and happy reviewing!
How to succeed at the test?

I live in California but I was educated in Belgium and worked there for a few years. My first language is french and everybody was telling me that it was not possible for me to pass the test at the first time because I was a foreign nurse. That book gives you all the advices you need to understand the process of the nclex. It is not a summary of a medical book. So when I went for the exam, I knew what to expect and how to think like the people who made the test. I passed and only in 75 questions. Thank you Kaplan. You rock.
Not the average review book

This is not one of those 1000 page review books that is going to cram and organize all the information you were supposed to learn in nursing school. It is a guide book. It is a very fast read and outlines several studying and test taking strategies focusing on nursing content, most of which I found extremely helpful. I read this book several times when studying for my NCLEX, it helped me keep perspective and calmed me down from time to time. There is also a good chapter on Maslow (you all love and remember him, right?) and hints about his theories to keep in mind when answering questions. Lastly, the practice test on the CD ROM was the best practice test I took. It had the most questions which were similar to the actual NCLEX; and I have several of the huge review books, took a review course, and bought one questions CD. This shouldn't be your only review book, but for me it was a necessary addition. (I found out the other day I passed my NCLEX on my first try after completing only 75 questions)
