Jolly Old Santa Claus: Collectors Edition

What a wonderful story and beautiful illustrations! This has become THE defining start of the Christmas season at our house! The rich colors and nostalgic figures delight all ages and transport some of us back to Christmas' past. A bargain at any price! Thanks for the memories!!

A Favorite Tradition

My mother gave me this book when I was very young. It was my favorite book around the holidays. The illustrations are outstanding. I tried to find another one a few years ago, but to my dismay, the newer editions had superimposed the words over the beautiful illustrations. This one is great because it has the story written on the previous pages of the full page illustrations dealing with that particular part of the story. The story takes you on a trip throughout all the different places in the North Pole. You can view the kitchen, the room where the elves make all the decorations, the toy room, Santa's office, the forest where they cut all the Christmas trees, and many more places. It is definitely magical. It was a tradition that one of my sisters would read me this book on Christmas Eve. I have tried to keep that tradition with my own children. I wish I could afford another copy so that I may keep the one I own in the best of shape. If you can afford this little piece of nostalgia, I definitely recommend it.

Very sweet and timeless. A classic story of the wonder and magic that only Santa can inspire. It's been around for generations and will continue to be for generations to come. Read it with your little ones - it will become a wonderful holiday tradition!

A book to make a tradition of reading every Christmas

This book has been in my family for many years. As a kid I just loved looking at the great illistrations, there are so many fun detailed in the pictures to explore. The story is a simple and enjoyable story. But I must say it is the illistrations that I loved and still love the most. Now I am getting my own copy for my growing family to continue the tradition.

It's Been Butchered!

As a previous reader commented, the illustrations have been reduced to a smaller size which has all but ruined the book. Also I remember a final illustration in the original of the elves having a good old pillow fight at the end of the night. This illustration was completely eliminated from this new version. A sacrilidge has been committed!
