A facinating journey thru the lives of Canadian pioneers

When I received this book, I was unsure of what to expect. To my delight, I was taken on an incredible trip of hardship and nostagia. As a member of the generation X, I have come to respect those who have struggled, so that I may have what I do, just that much more. I was intrigued and awestruck at the resilience, fight, and strength, that was required just to survive - a far cry from our refrigerators, washers, and microwaves... not to mention our cars. A world with out medicare and welfare, where one's support fell to themselves, family members, and neighbors. This book is filled with pictures depicting the lives of these 2 special pioneers and their respective families. This book also contains a quantity of poetry that reflects much of the way of the pioneers - add some politics and love.. and the spice is there. What can I say, I enjoy reading and re-reading it!
