Hankoi : Half Love ( A Novel )

Share The Love. Their abilities will amaze you. Japanese love stories are often shrouded in mystery, yet at the same time so thrilling. At first glance love, accidental love, crush, chaos and drama. Romance tells both beautiful and dark about people, lives and emotions. Can you hope your new friend is the right partner? And for what's all this whole 'special' reason that these feelings suddenly begin? What do they expect from this relationship and what are their intentions? This is the story of a musician, trying to unravel the story of his love and his entire fate. A man with huge dream but struggles in life. Jobless young musician in New York City and living off of savings, Japanese-American Clark Hashimoto turns his attention to the only thing he has going: his band, and his dream of getting a recording contract. Lately, things have been picking up for the band, and with a plan to start freelancing as a music professional, things are looking up for Clark. And that's when he meets Emily. Between rehearsals and shows, Clark stumbles into the cafe where Emily works, and what starts as a friendship soon turns into more. But the rocky road to fame throws up many obstacles that are almost too much for Clark to overcome. Betrayal, infighting, and missed opportunities start to pile on. When his personal life falls apart with a crash, and his dreams shatter around him, Clark flees to his uncle who owns a corporation in Japan and who has offered Clark a job there, to make a new start. Years pass, and Clark gets used to his life away from the stage. On his commute one day, Clark meets Rina, an artist who dreams of representing Japan in an international art exhibit. Rina's artistic talent and wisdom draw Clark in. Though he doesn't return the romantic feelings Rina has for him; she's inspired him to rediscover his passion and recover his love for music and songwriting. Carrying new hope, he faces another chance to chase his lost dream, one that brings him back to New York to face all that he had lost the first time around.
