Compact Technical Summary of Personal Rapid Transit Issues

Published in 1978 based on work undertaken by the Aerospace Corporation at a time when people still took innovation in transit systems seriously. The facts in the book are still largely true and relevant. The Aerospace Corporation constructed a scaled down prototype that demonstrated the feasibility of the technology. Subsequent developments in computing systems would seem to make this type of technology more practical than ever. Despite this, the transit industry is still selling nineteenth century transit technologies to the public - as in trains, buses, and monorails.
