I got the job...

I'm an HR manager like the author and am also a believer in the law of attraction. So, although I should know everything she talks about already, it was a great step by step guide (and reminder) of how to get the job. I followed her advice to the letter on one posted position and that was the one I got. I've loaned to several friends who also loved it. This is the only book you need to find a job.

A go-getter of a career guide

Human resource management expert applies her resume-sorting wisdom gleaned from both sides of the hiring desk in Excuse Me, Your Job Is Waiting: Attract the Work You Want, a solid guide to identifying the right job opening and getting ahead of the pack in the application and interview process. Chapters present insights into deciding whether a company's energy is right, how to transform negative emotions into positive ones, how to infuse an upbeat attitude into one's resume, how to stay focused during the job hunt, how to discern whether it's time to start one's own business, and much more. "Ironically, successful folks don't take unnecessary risks, and they don't accept boredom as a part of life. In fact, they detest boredom. They find boredom to be a waste of time, and they can't stand to waste time. They try to jam as much into a finite lifetime as possible. At work, they become more efficient to squeeze out boredom. They listen intently when a new concept hits their radar..." A go-getter of a career guide, especially recommended for anyone dissatisfied with their current job or career prospects.

Great resource for those looking for employment!

I found this book very helpful in getting my mind right to go into the task of finding a new job. There were some pre-concieved notions that I had attached to my search for employment that this book blew away and replaced with more helpful thoughts that actually made my job search easier. For those that want to use the "Law of Attraction" to aide them in attracting the "perfect" employment sitiutaion for them, this book is a must read.

Clicking in the right environment

This is a very interesting and positive outlook on any job search. Ms. George give practical, mental and spiritual/internal advice on how to be in alinement to prepare, pursue and obtain your ideal job/career/vocation. Since I have read her book (and continue to re-read), I have learned how to take care of myself and even take time to really focus on what I desire my next assignment to be. As I am constantly becoming more intune with the process of the Law of Attraction, I continue to keep having offers that get better and better. I recommend this book to people who really are ready to take responsibility for their outcomes and want to have a positive outlook in finding their career that best suits them.

The Law of Attraction works!

I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to read this book. It truly inspired my thoughts and actions and gave me the insight and encouragement I needed to continue my job hunt. There are so many practical stories and lessons that stuck a very deep cord with me. I love the story of the monks, it was very appropriate --many lessons of "letting go" that I needed to embrace. Also reading about anger as a motivator really made me put things in perspective. While there are many excellent parts of the book I have to say the section on Value was most important. What a way to communicate a very simple yet troubling topic that surely everyone can relate to. I realized that finding your own Value, believing in it, really Believing in it, and capitalizing on it, is very hard, especially when you've been told that you're not so good and/or if your job search has stalled. The first thing to go is your sense of Value and without it, you're truly just a shell of a person. I'm also looking very forward to passing it along to my mother who will benefit particularly from the chapter about getting out of RUTS! If I could talk to Laura I would thank her for her very concise and effective guidance on job seeking. I've grown as a person for reading it and my job search is coming to a close with offers streaming in! Teachings on the Law of Attraction are so critical to successfully seeking new employment, Thanks Laura!
