4.570.000.000- Planet Earth is formed. The origin of the Earth is the same as the origin of the Solar System: it was initially a large cloud of gases (Helium and hydrogen) and stellar dust from the Big Bang, as well as heavier elements from supernovae. The celestial body that one day would be our Earth arose from the union of rocks and small planetoids gravitationally attracted.

ERA ARCHAEAN

The first 570 million years have been called ERA ARCHAEAN. Since this is the least known stage of history, its study was not divided into periods.

4.565.000.000- The shock of the rock particles and their high radioactivity cause more heat, the planet is transformed into an immense incandescent ball of lava. Fragments of iron and other molten metal's are concentrated in its centre, forming the nucleus. Lighter rocks and minerals float above the core, in an intermediate layer called a mantle, partially pasty in consistency. In this period the mantle lacks metals.
