Essentials of Paramedic Care....Tragedy, or Not?

Well it is true that I have found a few typos already, and that was in the first few chapters. However, after reading the reviews I can show you quite a few typos. This book is good and it was the book of choice by my Paramedic instructor, because he wanted a book that was writen by a real medic, not just a former medic that is now a realestate agent. Anyways, even if the book has errors in it, remember that the most important instruction tool along with your book is your INSTRUCTOR, and how he or she instructs you. The book gives great concepts, knowledge, and how to apply those both to the field. I believe it will be a great preparation for lectures and where I can bring up questions to my instructor. You can't blame your not being prepared for the National Registry test on a book, it is based on you. Here is my advice, if you have a problem or question from the book. "ASK YOUR INSTRUCTOR ABOUT IT." They are the ones that will set you on the right track, That's why Paramedic courses aren't independent studies. Anyways, I believe when I get done with school I will be ready to hit the streets. I believe this book will help me get there, with the help of my instructor of course.

Paramedic Bible!

I'm one week away from my paramedic exam. This book has been my bible. It covers every aspect of paramedic care from just about every angle. It flows well and is not drab or dry like other text books. It's a huge book (2,000 pages), but there are 48 chapters. The chapters are easy to read and to draw information from. Each chapter contains objectives with page references, quick review content highlites on the edges of each page along with key terms and points. It has never been so easy to find definitions, referances and main content substance from a textbook.It has beautiful illustrations, pictures from real medic calls and step-by-step diagramed charts with photographs demonstrating the procedures.My favorite part of this text is the matching web site where you can take an on-line quiz for each chapter. This has been a great study tool.The book is big, heavy and rather difficult to carry around, but it's basically the "World Book Encyclopedia of Paramedicine" wrapped up into one big book. A bit pricy, but worth the cost. Highly recommended. I wouldn't trade mine for the world.
