A BEAUTIFUL WAY OF LIFE

I found this book incredibly refreshing and satisfying. Jan writes in a practical, yet very honest way. As a mother of 4 young children, I was searching for how to spend my life connected with God more than with the busyness and tedium of parenthood. This book has truly revolutionized how I relate to the Lord, and I find myself coming back to it and sharing it with others time and time again. It is the modern day classic of The Practice of the Presence of God. If we all learned this from the time we became Christians, I can only imagine the Christian life of our world would be dramatically different. My favorite part is about how she had invented her own version of spiritual correctness, but found that what she needed wasn't a great quiet time, but a God-centered lifetime. She gave up on getting it right in order to relish being His much-loved child. Profound, challenging, and incredibly refreshing. Worthy of your time and life.

This is a life-changing book. Jan Johnson has a unique ability to communicate how to live moment by moment in the presence of God. I highly recommend this book to those who have a heart for the Lord and a desire to touch lives through prayer.

Life Changing

As a missionary serving on a foreign field, I saw God put this book into my hands at the perfect moment. Working for God was no problem....being alone with God was! This book has given me new insights into the tremendous love God has for me and wiped away the need to perform. I have seen the need to go from "Devotional" time to "Devoted" time and the difference is truly amazing. I consider this book an expression of love from my Heavenly Father who I am enjoying daily in a new and intimate way. God Bless Jan Johnson for her obedience in writing this book. A must read for anyone who is struggling with spending time alone with God.

Refreshing Book

I am a pastor and read a great deal. I have found this book to be like cool water to a busy soul. I strongly recommend it if you are tired of feeling guilty about not doing enough devotions, feel you don't reach God in prayer or are just hungry to hear someone talk about the down to earth walk with God that is very do-able for each of us. May the Lord bless you through the work of this sister.

Awesome book!

Jan Johnson does such a wonderful job explaining the insights of prayer and how to include them in our everyday lives. From the time we wake up to the time that we lay our head on our pillows that night, we are able to look back and focus on what God did. I haven't finished the book yet but I am eagerly waiting the end. It has been the first devotional book that has really kept me pumped and on a high!
