Word of Mouth

Honestly I have not read this series, but each time she releases a new book I have to buy it for my girlfriend, she says that they are great....that's all I have to go by.

She can kick demon butt and make a PBJ all at the same time...

I did it! I read 100 book this year! And this is that 100th book. A very fitting end actually... this is the 4th book in a series that I read this year. I don't usually read stuff like this, demons and paranormal or whatever. But once I started reading that first book, I got sucked into Kate's world. I actually found this book in my local Barnes & Noble under "local authors". My friend with me had read it and told me it was part of a series, so I decided to just go for it and bought the whole set. I'm so glad that I did. This particular one is really good, the ending left me saying "FINALLY" (don't wanna give anything away), but left me wanting to know more... so, what happened? Well? Come on! Tell me! Tell me, darn it! READ this series. It's really funny, quirky and an easy read. Great for an airplane or beach reading or other light reading. Fabulous! My biggest complaint about this series is that the next one won't be out until September 2009 :(

Who Knew That Zombies Could Be So Funny

I love this series. Book #4 in the Soccer Mom series. This book rehashes many of the previous storylines so you would be lost if you don't start this series at the beginning. Kate's life is busy enough with a toddler, a teenage daughter and a husband running for political office - what she doesn't need are two angry demons joining forces to take her off the planet. There is just no reasoning with Abaddon and Goramesh - you would think that demons would have a better sense of humor. But, no, it's up to Kate, with a little help from her friends, to save San Diablo from the infestation of Demons and Zombies. But how do you do that while still trying to find a giant rabbit for the neighborhood Easter Party? So while Kate is patrolling at night with David who isn't only David, Kate must finally come to terms with her husband Stuart and put all of her hunting paraphernalia on the table and come clean about who she really is and if he wants to stay married to a level 5 demon hunter.

This one is not to be missed.

Katherine "Kate" Connor is a Level Five Demon Hunter with Forza Scura. Until recently, Kate had thought her nights of hunting and killing demons were over. Instead, Kate now has a late husband (Eric) whose soul resides in a school teacher's body (David), a teen daughter (Allie) who wants to train to become a Demon Hunter and to spend more time with David since her biological father's soul is dwelling within, a toddler (Timmy) to potty-train, and to assister her current husband (Stuart) with his political campaign. That is much more than any other mortal wife should have to deal with. Now an old enemy is about to show up. Demons and zombies are constantly after Kate because of some sort of prophecy. It seems that Kate is the one destined to wield the Sword of Caelum and destroy the Decimator, sending him to Hades for all eternity. But Kate has never heard of this prophecy or the sword. Of course Stuart realizes something strange is going on with his wife, but since he knows nothing of demons and Kate's night duties, Stuart is worrying about the state of their marriage. ***** Julie Kenner has written another winner! This series just seems to keep getting better and better. The way Julie Kenner mixes the super natural with ordinary modern day people and things just astounds me to no end. This is not a series to miss and this is the best story of the series thus far! ***** Reviewed by Detra Fitch of Huntress Reviews.

4th In The Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom Series

Returning home after an unsuccessful demon hunt, Kate Connor is attacked at home by a demon and a zombie. She is used to fighting demons, but zombies are another matter and difficult to dispose of. When the body of the demon disappears the next morning, Kate realizes she has an even bigger mystery on her hands. Unfortunately, the zombie is still there. And between the Easter party planning madness and business dinner parties at the house, Kate will need to rely on her friends and family to help keep her sanity and San Diablo's demon population at bay. To make matters worse, Kate is still trying to keep her demon hunting a secret from her husband. Her former husband wants to spend more time with their daughter. And her daughter wants nothing more than to follow in her mother's footsteps as a demon hunter. Poor Kate has to deal with more drama than anyone should. This series is still one of my favorites. Even if I don't always agree with Kate's decisions regarding her personal life. Events come to a head in this installment. With plenty of action, suspense, and humor, the Demon Hunter Soccer Mom series is a wonderfully entertaining read. It has a completely different feel from any other urban paranormal or fantasy series out there. I can't get enough of it.
