Great Book

I bought this book back in 1999 and it contains some great poems like "Mr. Goodbar". I would recomend that you pick this one up as well as Erotic Noire.

Where is the real sequel?

I wanted so much to love this book, especially since it was billed and packaged to be the sequel to Erotique Noire, the best book of African Diaspora erotica ever written. This one has its hot moments, but it fails to embrace the scope and depth of that first work. It is a thick book, as thick as Erotique Noire, but it only has about half the number of entries. I believe its size was an unfair marketing device. I thought I was getting another remarkable encyclopedic work. Its redeeming quality is that it selected very good writers. I am still looking for the real sequel to Erotique Noire. And I demand that it be a big book that covers all of the bases.

Dr. Martin has selected poems that satisfy all appetites for carnal pleasures with a driving, rhythmic, energy. These selections are brave enough to speak to your heart, mind, and spirit as well as to your intimate desires. Readers: Sink into these profoundly beautiful words as you would a lavender-scented bath, drawn by your favorite lover. Excellent! Sensual and Soulful!

I love this effort! It is on par with the other tasty African-American book-Erotique Noire! Although I would say that EN is better-I still like it a lot! More-more-more-more! I have to keep my praise and enthisiasm simple when it comes to books like this one.It has helped me to understand that my thoughts, fantasies, dreams that happen to be erotic are natural and OK! It also really shows how Black Writing has come out of the closet and is viable, profitable, and necessary. Write on! (pun intended)-ed-
