Sad!!

I loved this book but hated everything that happened to him!! It’s infuriating and I wanted nothing more than to save him and his brother Thomas.. I don’t understand why the police nor social services didn’t help him.. it’s very unfortunate and so heartbreaking that it continues to happen till this very day. Recommend for strong hearted readers. I almost cried throughout the entire time I read this. I wish all those people that were involved would’ve gotten what they deserved in the eyes of the law. I sincerely believe there’s a special place in the after life for them and they’ll have to answer to God for everything!!

Sucks you in from the beginning.

I truly recommend this book it's very capturing from the first page and such a heartbreaking tale

Heart Wrenching!

I could not put this book down! I started reading this at work and literally went threw a box of tissues bawling my eyes out! Then an over powering hate came over me reading this book and realizing the truth of the world we live in and how no one helped him! After reading this I wanted to grad the boy in this book, rock him and tell him there is people out there that would go to the ends of the earth to protect him!!! I am one of them!!

Could not put this down.

Read this book in a weekend. Was not able to put this down. Such a heart wrenching story but could not wait for the ending.

Sad

When I ordered this book I wasn't expecting what I got. This book became increasingly horrific and it made me heartsick to realize that there are people moonlighting as "adults" that will hurt, rape, and torture children for kicks. This book was uncompromising in its approach and while I have to admit that this style of writing may not appeal to every reader..it brought home the fact that most of the children that are brought to or held by pedophiles are done so through the hands of their own family (in most instances). I applaud Joe Peters for coming out of this alive, and determined to pursue a better life IN SPITE of those that were determined to abuse him. His family and his abusers ought to be ashamed of themselves and the lives that they choose to lead...especially his birthmother..and I use the term as such because a real "mother" protects, nutures and loves and does not leaves a child defenseless, alone and able to be destroyed by herself and others because of some deficit in their own personality.

Survival

Cry Silent Tears I read this book in one sitting.I could not believe that any child could overcome such an abusive chidhood. Although it is a difficult read, I am pleased that I read it!I would recommend it to anyone. Jan Wells.

wow

wow this book was so great. Its a sad story but I couldn't put it down I wanted to know what was going to happen next. I can't believe that children all over the world go through these kinds of situations all the time behind closed doors and no one knows or cares to know. Most of what happent to this kid could have been stopped if someone would been have brave enough to stand up for his rights.
