Flynn Moreau is arrogant and controlling when he meets Marigold Flower. He finds he is drawn to her even when he thinks she is a cold little gold-digger. Although she tries many times to tell Flynn he is wrong, and that he is ripping a strip off of the wrong person, it's not until the handy man who works for Flynn tells him she isn't Emma Jones the granddaughter of his late friend Maggie. Over and over again she is cut short when she tries to tell Flynn, but he doesn't see this as being the case when he finally has enough pity on her to help her. Marigold has come to Sugar Cottage for R & R but her car Myrtle breaks down, then she has a bad fall in the snow that breaks her ankle. Once Flynn finds out the truth he doesn't want to part with Marigold at all, and is surprised when she isn't falling into his arms as so many other women have. Even though he has made a mess of showing Marigold that all men aren't like Dean, the man from her broken engagement, the way he goes about it doesn't endear him to Marigold. Dean left Marigold because he left her for another woman. When Dean a immature shallow man, realizes, as a spoiled child he has lost a good thing he tries to win Marigold back only to almost lose her chances to being happy with Flynn. Marigold is so sweet, kind and a little bit gullible she reminds me of my granddaughter.
