In the sixth month of my son's treatment for leukemia, I picked up this book that had been given to me month's before, finally ready to read about someone else's struggle. I have great support from family and friends, but reading another mom's thoughts and feelings really helped me to realize that what I was feeling, especially the ability to stay "up" and have dark humor about the whole thing, was normal. Even though our cancers were very different, our drive to take over our child's care and the camaraderie we developed with other cancer families remained the same. Thank you, Mrs. Breen, for taking the time to share yourself with others and help us to feel we are not warped or alone in the fight to save our kids.
