An Okay Book if purchased at the right price - a review of "Calico Cat at the Zoo"

This is the Sixth 'Calico Cat' book we have read in the series. [None purchased, btw.] Each book tends to be different from the next. One was a primer, another was more like an advertisement for the library (okay, I didn't really object to that), the third and fourth were about shapes and colors (respectively); while the fifth was about the seasons. This last book is all about CC's trip to the Zoo. Compared to the others, this book is probably close to the top. Besides dealing with zoo animals (elephant, hedgehog, turtle, giraffe, gorilla, lion, zebra, parrot, deer, rhino, hippo, snake, and monkey) the book uses single word descriptions (big, small, short, tall, shy, proud, quiet, loud, gentle, mean, fat, lean, and funny). The advantages of single words is that very small children can easily memorize the words and practice (pretend) they are reading. Four Stars. [B-]. Some of the best drawings in the series. The 'big' elephant *is* BIG; and the small hedgehog *is* small in comparison to CC. Each drawing generally covers two pages.
