Dr. T. C. Chau received his doctoral degree in mathematics from the Australian National University in 1969. He taught in the mathematics department of Laurentian University, Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, for 27 years. This tutorial is intended to be a preparatory text for high school students and university freshmen who will be taking a first course in calculus, and also for people who do it by themselves.
