Love It

I never knew there were so many uses for pine cones! And other wonderful outdoor treasures of course. Worick spells it out plain and simple with projects inspired by woods, meadow, shore, your backyard and the "urban jungle." This book is easy to flip through and choose projects based on where you have collected crafty items, whether it is a shell or rock from the beach or a flower from the woods. I especially love the small sections titled "Lickety Split," with quick ideas and tips. Many of these projects would make for great gifts, but you might even say the gift is in the enjoyment of making these things. Kate Quinby's illustrations are simple, yet sport that classic Backcountry Betty style. This is a fun book to have around for when inspiration hits and its sturdy, water resistant cover keeps it in good shape.
