She lives in Eugene, Oregon with her two cats Toby and Lelaynya (Laynie). She sees her main purpose here as being an encourager to all. She's a member of NFB (National Federation of the Blind), the Cat Writer's Association and APLB (The Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement).

Lauren was baptized in Jesus' name five years ago and became a Baha'l on December 29, 2018.
