When I first read this book, I felt that the characters were too strange and the plot(s) unbelievable. But after I had finished it, I kept thinking about the book and the characters -- it was as if they wouldn't leave my mind! I eventually bought a copy and I have since re-read it several times. If you like offbeat fiction and unusual characters, you'll love this. I found the romance of Kitty and Rambeau to be the most "real" part of the book, and very touching.
