A New Favorite

Although this novel does follow the wealthy doctor/excellent, caring nurse/marriage of convenience formula, it does contain some nice twists which make it different from The Convenient Wife and other similar novels. It is my favorite novel using this formula that I have read so far. If you like sweet romances, you'll like this one.

A Wonderful Neels Handsome Dutch Doctor / Hard-Working Nurse Tale

What Were His Plans For Her? When Jane needed help, she was amazed that it was the charismatic surgeon Nikolaas van der Vollenhove who tore himself away from his busy schedule to come to her rescue. A renowned workaholic, it was obvious that he had no time for anything -- or anyone -- in his life. .....Which was why his marriage proposal came as such a shock. Just why did he want Jane for his wife -- if it wasn't for love? Jane was hardworking, kind, and ready to help others. She just need to realize that allowing Nikolaas to help her may the best way to render assistance to him. This is a wonderful Neels story.

Good story, competent heroine

This is another excellent Betty Neels romance. Jane Fox has many odds against her but manages to prevail. She is a hardworking nurse who is compassionate towards those in her care, as well as to her beloved pets. I found the part where she is working in a remote and understaffed hospital especially vivid, (and a good example of the effects of the nursing shortage). Thank heavens for the hero, Nicholas, and his timely intervention! Although he seems distant at first, he recognizes Jane's courage and strength, and falls in love with her. I'd recommend this book to fans of Betty Neels or anyone looking for a good romance book.

THANK HEAVEN FOR KNIGHTS IN SHINING ARMOR !

COVER: A damsel in distress ...Jane Fox was alone and desperately in need of a friend. Not that she expected Nikolaas van der Vollenhove to apply for the position. After all, he'd said he was no knight in shining armor. So when he rode to her rescue, she had to wonder if he was actually interested in her. Until he asked her to marry him - then she realized Nikolaas was definitely not a man in love.Jane said yes, anyway. But only because she thought a determined woman could change him ....This is another one of Betty Neels' strong, courageous young heroines with a heart as big as all outdoors. The hero is a wealthy doctor who needs Jane more than he knows. She fits seamlessly into his life, makes a life for her devoted lifelong servant, and gradually wins the heart of the hero and his dogs. :)This is another fine example of Betty Neels' warmth and happily ever after artform.
