Amazing Life of Jesus... aMaZiNg!

My two sons, ages 4 and 2, love this book. First, it shares the story of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, doesn't get better than that. Second, it keeps their interest for more than 2 seconds with tons of lift-the-flaps. One concern that I have with the book is that it doesn't go into Jesus dying on the Cross, which, for Christians, is one of the two most important events of the Gospel. But it does have Jesus resurrecting Himself from the dead. So, if it had had both the Crucifixion and the Resurrection, this book would have gotten 5 stars. Jesus died for my sins and yours and, it is something that we need to unashamedly share with our children. Anyway, it is a very colorful and wonderfully illustated book! Get it!

My grandson loves the book

My three year old grandson loves this book. He always brings it to me to read. He enjoys opening the flaps and me telling him what it is. I believe any chance you can bring Jesus into a child's life is a blessing.

Vibrant, interactive and educational!

The Amazing Life of Jesus is another in the Lift-the-Flap Bible Book series. In this book writer-illustrator team Allia Zobel-Nolan and Steve Cox condense the life of Jesus into five short stories. Each two-page spread offers four lines of rhyming text and several interactive flaps for further discovery and learning. The flaps, more than 45 throughout the book, teach counting (1-10), matching pairs (find two identical animals) and babies (baby animals to their parents), action words (11 different verbs) and colors (purple, orange, blue, green, red and yellow). What I Like: Biblical references are provided with each story. I always like that. I love the interactive nature and the "hidden" preschool lessons. My kids love these books, so the bigger size is great for sharing over three laps. This book (and others in the series) measure a whopping 10 x 12". What I Dislike: This book tackles too much. Granted, condensing the life of Jesus to 5-10 rhyming sentences is a monumental task! But I would prefer a longer, more inclusive book or a smaller subject range. Rather than telling the life of Jesus, why not tell the parables of Jesus or the miracles of Jesus? More specific content would fit better in this format. Age Appeal: The book says 3 and above, but I think children as young as 18 months would enjoy this book. Overall Rating: Very Good. Tanya -- Christian Children's Book Review

My favorite gift for two-year olds!

My toddler and I really like this book. The illustrations are cute and the flaps are fun. While learning about Jesus, children match pairs of animals, explore verbs, count, identify colors and more. It has pages on Jesus' birth, calling his disciples to be "fishers of men", feeding the 5000, Palm Sunday, and Easter Sunday. My favorite page is the Easter Sunday page; it is tastefully done. I have given it as a gift many times. Can't recommend it highly enough!
