UNPUTDOWNABLE!!!

Truly. Certainly not an adjective that you'll find in Webster's, but one that I think most adequately describes this book. I found this to be a wonderfully engaging tale about Randall Hollis and the women who inhabit his world.... Meet Medora. A gifted and talented artist, Medora is beautiful to boot. She's also known Randall Hollis practically all of her life. She's been comfortable with their relationship for years..noncommittal, completely uncomplicated, with an ease in interaction that only comes with knowing someone for many years. But she's reached a point in her life where what he is giving her is just not enough. She's decided to put Randall out of her life, but it looks as though that decision did not come soon enough...... And then there's Ana. Many years older than Randall, she is flattered by his attentions. He has made her feel beautiful and desirable, something that she hasn't felt in a long time. She even forgives him his earlier deceptions, and their relationship strengthens and deepens. Randall thinks that he may have truly found love, and Ana believes that he may be her second chance. And then their world blows up when more deceptions are discovered, with the bomb being ignited by one..... Taylor Benedict. Many years younger than Randall, she has been having a physical relationship with him for months. Young, immature, and completely self-centered, she is the quintessential B.A.P. But why is it that Randall is only available on Thursdays? And what does she really want from him anyway...and he from her? This a tightly woven tale in which the author brings all of the characters together very nicely. The relationship drama is really only secondary to the author's message through her story of how our relationships with our parents can impact our life choices, and forever determine the direction in which we choose to travel. Always True to You

I've read everything published that Valerie W. Wesley has written and I truly enjoy her imagination and the way she portrays her fantasies through her pen. All of the other reviews adequately describe the storyline which, I agree, is not drama filled. The story itself was just plain, simple and quite enjoyable. As usual, I started on a Saturday morning and was done by Monday morning. Very quick and light. The most important lessons of what love is really about are the areas the author has chosen to explore in this novel, as well as how our relationship with our parents determine what type of parents we will become. Quite interesting !!! If you're on vacation and looking for a nice pleasant short story, you've got to read this.

A Good Read

When I first started this book I was lost, It seemed so busy, I was having trouble remembering which woman he had what with. But I stayed with it. I found it a nice slow read. I liked the story. It wasn't a hopping page turner but I don't think it was meant to be. It was a good story about love, friendship and growing together. I enjoyed it.DawnMBC

VERY GOOD READ - IGNORE THE CRITICS!

This book was really good, I admit it starts out slow but once it gets going it's really good!

Love the One You?re With

The Cole Porter song, from which this book's title is taken, is the perfect anthem for Randall Hollis. He's a successful, handsome art dealer for whom commitment is impossible and fidelity is reduced to its least common denominator. Because Randall is unable to commit to his long time friend and lover Medora Jackson, she reluctantly ends their 15-year affair. The balm that soothes his wound is simultaneous relationships with two other women. One is Taylor, a younger art graduate student who sees Randall's accomplishments in the art world as a ticket to her own success. The other is Ana, a wealthy, older widow who becomes his client and later his lover. The "Small World Phenomenon" definitely connects their tiny social circle and a collision is inevitable. That very public, humiliating confrontation eventually opens the eyes and minds of Randall and the women who share a part of his life.Ms. Wesley does an excellent job of portraying each character. I was grateful that none of the women were portrayed as vacuous victims and Randall was not a one-dimensional dog. They were all people molded by their experiences which she lays out in great detail. I was even able to sympathize with people I fully intended to dislike, with the exception of Randall's mother who deserves a special "Mommy Dearest" award. I admit to reading this book at first through the prism of the Tamara Hayle series, and although the book is not a whodunit page turner, it became a gentle read that grew on me.NDavisAPOOO BookClub
