Not the usual ... thing

As a young black man who wants to be a writer, I was impressed with the list of writers in the book, but I was really hyped by the stories. These brothers can write. The stories were great for the most part, although a few weren't as hot as I would have liked. Still, there were stories here that I will never forget. The men here were real and not that junk you get in a lot of those kissy-kissy books. And some of them were thoughful and others funny.....

Pleasantly Surprised

When I discovered that After Hours had been released, I rushed to my favorite book store to peruse it. Not knowing what to expect by African American male authors writing 'love stories', I found myself pleasantly surprised by the clarity in which the writers were able to express their emotions, desires, and vulnerability. I found the works to be thoroughly engrossing. And the eroticism expressed in each work wasn't half bad either! The works give African American women hope that there are African American men out there who view intimacy as more than just 'bumping and grinding'. I give the highest praise possible to Robert Fleming and the writers for giving women a glimpse into the male psyche, which at times can be difficult to comprehend. Congratulations to all on such a compelling work!

Finally, romance with erotica

Finally Black men are expressing there other side. The side that we Black women knew had to exist, since we raised them right? All men want and need romance as mush as women. So to finally read a collection of black erotica that also includes romance was great. These stories fueled my imagination and took me there!

I have been eagerly awaiting After Hours. A fan of black erotica, I noticed that writings BY black men were pretty scarce, so when news of After Hours came out, I knew I had to read it, and let me tell it, it doesn't disappoint.After Hours contains stories that aren't simply about sex.
