Love this book ...

Love this book love all the three books , love the sisters and there stories ...

Great read!

Anyone who has a sister (or more than one) probably understands the reality that there are days you want to string' em up. . .but let anyone else try to mess with them, and you'll quickly close ranks in unwavering solidarity, sometimes much to the aggravation of the sister being "protected"! Such is the case of Gwen, Beth, and Lacy. Their antics in the first book to safeguard Gwen made me chuckle. Now Beth must contend with her sisters and the confusing attentions of Nick, whose behavior is nothing at all like the romance novels she devours. Will she ever find a man like the ones that reside on the pages of the books? Tracie Peterson has penned another great story. However, as enjoyable as it is simply as a relaxing read, there are also great truths woven throughout. Such as standing up for what's right, taking time to know and love a person in spite of their cicumstances, and learning that true love is so much more than gallant deeds and poetic words.

Good, fast read

I enjoyed this read, the suspense was there as were the historicalness of the wild, unsettled land of Montana. Well until the railroad begins to make plans to come through. Beth Gallating is a young women full of romantic ideas and full of life. Her romantic ideas though unfortunately come from those of the dime novels that are full of images a pure, godly person wouldn't want. Beth does know how to help her sisters and she has a heart for helping people including the prostitutes living next door. The reader can see she loves God and wants to live in His fullness, although her reading comes between her Bible studying and her. At the end of the book though she realizes how misguided her time has been in reading the dime novels when she can read the best love story of all, the Bible. This book was well written, like all of Tracie Peterson's books, and was a fast read (great for a busy mom of three) and provided enough suspense and happenings to keep me turning the page. I could hardly put this down, thanks Tracie Peterson for another great read and one that can challenge and strengthen Faith.

A Love to Last Forever - Great Summer Reading

I was recently sent a copy of A Love to Last Forever by Tracie Peterson (and Bethany House graciously threw in book 1 - A Promise to Believe In - since I hadn't read it either). What fun books! I know I have been on a streak of reviewing Christian suspense/mystery books, so this was a fun and welcome change of pace, and reminded me of what I used to read more. These stories center around the three Gallatin sisters and their lives in Gallatin County, Montana. The area is untamed and unsettled and dangers abound, but the three sisters have their eyes set on God and trust him as they try to survive without their father. Book One tells the story of Gwen, a young widow who mistakenly thinks that she is the reason that bad things keep happening to her family. Book Two turns to the middle sister, Beth, and she struggles to separate what real love looks like from the fictional (even Christian) love stories that we read ... I can relate to that problem from my single days! Book Three will be released in June and I'll be looking for an opportunity to review that one. :) If you are looking for some fun summer reading, I can definitely steer you to this series by Tracie Peterson. What wonderful books for some light reading while you are on a road trip or parked at the beach!

Full of Romance and plenty of Intrigue

Bethany or Beth, rather, is definitely the romantic one of the Gallatin sisters. In book #2 of the series we get to hear her story. As a reader, on could easily understand and appreciate this novel without having read the first book. Yet, the first book is Gwen, the eldest sister's story, and understanding her is easier if you know her background more fully. The only qualm I have with this book is the way that it ended, I have many unanswered questions and feel quite left in my pondering. It is not necessarily bad, and it definitely makes me even more so eager for the third book, where I am sure we will hear Lacy's story, but I do despise be left to wonder. Beth is full about romance and all she wants is her own. Then with the confusion of Mr. Adrian Murphy of the railroad company and neighbor Nicholas Lassiter, she is unsure of what she really wants. Through out the story she dives into her dime romance novels seeking answers. She even finds her way into more novels than in time for reading the Bible and that was a part of her with some guilt that I could easily relate to. This story is definitely not lacking on romance, for Beth as well as for other characters as well. There are pregnancies with babies and losses. There are crimes with passion and purpose. People are coming in and moving out and with each page you never know what to expect next. The world of the Gallatin County Gallatin sisters is changing rapidly and as a reader you will absolutely thirst for what is next. After reading this book, if you missed the first, you'll definitely want to go back as well as look for the third to come later this year (2009).
