Tolkien 1999 Diary

This is really a daybook/planner in terms of the space it provides for daily records of events. I really enjoyed it! The artwork and quality is great.I am disappointed because I cannot seem to find a year 2000 version of this same project.

THE TALE OF AN AMAZING HOBBIT ON AN ADVENTURE

While smoking his morning pipe on a beautiful morning Bilbo could never imagine what was about to happen to him.He was standing infront of his hobbit hole, blowing smoke rings, when the wizard Gandalf aproached him. After the introductions Gandaulf informs the hobbit that he decided to include him in an adventure that he was planing.Bilbo refused.But two days later he finds himself running from his house without any hankerchiefs to meat fourteen dwarves to slay the dragon that destroyed thier familys and stole thier wealth.He is promised 1/14th of all treasure recovered."In the end he gained, well you will see if he gains anything in the end"

TITLE QUITE MISLEADING

The "1999 Tolkien Diary" is NOT a diary. A diary is a book of blank, sometimes lined, pages for the owner to enter his/her personal thoughts. Nor does this book render itself proper as an appointment book, even though it contains the full 1999 calendar, including holidays in the US, UK, & Canada plus Christian & Jewish holydays. What this book truely represents in disguise is a collection of Alan Lee artwork. Full color images highlight the start of each month while pencil sketches adorn the calendar pages. One can sit back and enjoy art, not words or numbers, whenever the urge arises. The publisher sould have simply titled this book as the "1999 Tolkien Desk Calendar"; illustrated by Alan Lee.
